Q: When people ask you what you like about BC and its program, what do you tell them?
A: I like that it is not a diet but a healthy lifestyle change incorporating nutritional guidelines (ie: Super foods Rx) with eating the recommended 5
- 6 times per day (as recommended by the ADA for diabetics).
-
It promotes cardiovascular interval training that is very efficient (about 20 min) which I like with my very busy lifestyle.
-
I enjoy the weight training the most which strengthens both extremities (arms/legs) as well as core muscles (abdomen/back).
-
Never having been a weight lifter or competitive athlete, I am so
excited to see myself becoming more fit and stronger.
Q: What or who brought you to BC? What had you heard about the program?
A: I heard about the program through a fellow physician and other professionals who had completed the 84 day program and even one year later were continuing their lifestyle changes.
I heard that the program had a very sound nutritional program emphasizing:
-
Unprocessed foods
-
Low glycemic carbohydrates
-
Healthy fats rich in Omega-3 fatty acids
-
Healthy, preferably hormone-free meats and poultry (free-range, grass fed).
Q: What keeps you at BC? What has been your favorite compliment?
A: First and foremost, the way that I feel, having lost fat and gained muscle with a new found energy and therefore increased productivity keeps me at Body Change.
Certainly the wonderful compliments from friends, peers, medical staff and patients are appreciated. My
favorite compliment has been that I look “ten years younger”.
Q: What is your challenge with the program? How do you deal with it?
A: My biggest challenge is (external) outside temptations with food being brought into my office by staff, drug representatives.
So I make sure that everyone knows which foods I want to eat and I appreciate their support of my efforts.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: My commitment to continue a healthy lifestyle and the hard work that it took to strengthen my body, become more cardiovascular fit, and to loose a significant amount of body fat.
I am most proud that I have maintained this level
of fitness with no significant weight change, even through the holidays.
Q: What do you want people to know about BC?
A: That anyone, regardless of age, prior fitness level or athleticism can benefit tremendously from this program once they make up their mind that they are ready to improve their lifestyle – eat more healthy, be stronger and more fit.

Even a busy physician like me, can find one hour (3 times per week) and 20 minutes (another 3 times per week) to invest in her health and wellness because the
long term benefits are priceless.
-
As a physician, I now realize that I should be a positive influence and role model to my patients, promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle (both strengthening and cardiovascular exercises).
-
Many of my elderly patients could definitely benefit from healthier eating and better cardiovascular fitness (to lower cholesterol) as well as increased muscle mass from weight training and strengthening to increase bone density (to prevent Osteoporosis) and would encourage
them to join.
It’s never too late, you are never too old!
